Dear FSE Participants,
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Porto de Galinhas for FSE’24 in a few days! We draw your attention to some information that we would like to share with you.
Program
The program is available at https://2024.esec-fse.org/program/program-fse-2024/. We remind you that the researchr platform, which hosts the conference website, enables you to mark with a star the papers in which you are interested, so you can customize the program as you like. If you are presenting, please arrive early to the room where you will present and make sure to introduce yourself to the Session Chair (check the name in the program).

Getting to Porto de Galinhas
We remind you that there are two main options to reach Porto de Galinhas from Recife International Airport (REC):
- Shuttle Service from Luck Viagens: We recommend that you schedule your transfer before starting your trip, through email (eventos@luckviagens.com.br) or WhatsApp: +55 81 96411964.
- Taxi: You should look for a taxi from Coopstar (white with a blue stripe, see Coopstar website for pictures), the only taxi cooperative accredited by the airport. There are taxis available 24x7 past the sliding doors in the arrivals area.
Getting to the Conference Venue
FSE’24 will be held at Convention Center #2 of the Armação Resort. Convention Center #2 is located in the adjacent block of the hotel. We have updated the Venue page on our website to indicate where you should head for the event. If you are not staying at Armação Resort, you don’t need to go through the Hotel Reception and can head straight to Convention Center #2. Please check https://2024.esec-fse.org/venue/fse-2024-venue for pictures and maps.
WiFi
For accessing WiFi throughout the Convention Center, please use the SSID FSE. Username: ACM24 Password: 0724

Power and Voltage
The plug type and voltage in the Northeast of Brazil may be different from where you are traveling from. The voltage at the conference location is 220V. So, if possible, bring a power adapter, and be aware of the voltage and plug type differences.
Places to Eat and Tourism Attractions
You should definitely take the time to visit some of the touristic attractions around Porto de Galinhas. It is really worth it to visit the natural pools, take a buggy ride, do a raft tour at Pontal de Maracaípe, or even visit the Lighthouse in the downtown area. There are also plenty of options to get a taste of the cuisine from the Northeast of Brazil. You can find a map with suggestions at https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=13TkS-tzVr6i5AJkaK424SvXE6e_khoU&usp=sharing.
Weather, the Beach, and General Recommendations
Even though it is winter, the weather forecast for next week shows that the temperature will lie between 23ºC and 30ºC. We also would like to draw your attention to the fact that the sea in front of the hotel is rough, especially during high tide. So, we recommend caution when swimming in the sea. Porto de Galinhas is a safe and popular tourist spot with strong police presence, especially in high season. However, like any tourist destination, exercise caution. Avoid poorly lit and secluded areas at night, be careful when walking alone, and keep your belongings secure.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon in Porto de Galinhas! If you want to get into the mood and listening to some local and traditional music from Pernambuco while traveling to FSE, please checkout the playlist at https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHoVp5NAbKJa-jRmVbc4htXqMpZof0v5g.
